I'm breaking into the movies.
Well not exactly. But I am working on the social media strategy for an independent film that will (hopefully) be making the Indy film circuit in the next few months. Uh. How does this work?
Promoting a film, especially one that isn't in distribution yet, is a whole new animal for me. The social strategy that I would apply for a corporate client who's trying to sell something doesn't fit here. For one thing, there's no existing "brand" to monitor. And for another, the timeline is a moving target, since we don't know when that distro will happen...the launch of the social campaign will predate the product (film) launch by N weeks or months.
So I have a lot to learn. And a lot to do.
